We’ve come a long way from face masks in foil packaging. Modern facial treatments at spas and clinics across the country are much more sophisticated than rubbing on some cream, popping a few slices of cucumber on the eyes and lying down for half an hour to let it sink in. Therpaists are turning to the latest breakthroughs in technology to provide all types of facials using everything from lasers to electric to steam.
Here are a few facial treatments you might not know about.
The big shift recently for facials is the use of combination styles to provide a complimentary treatment that performs a number of functions. Hydration facials are a prime example of this as they aim to completely hydrate tired cells on the face.
The treatment involves three things: rubbing the face with an enzyme cream to firstly try and exfoliate the skin. After that, hyaluronic acid gel is rubbed on the face to completely open pores up before a low voltage dc current is passed through the skin to create what is known as deincrustration. This causes the pores to tighten and close up so dirt can’t get in and skin feels tighter.
Soft Pore Brushing
Facials don’t usually feel ticklish but this is the case when someone is having some soft pore brushing done on their face.
Using a device that looks like an oversized toothbrush, a gel is applied to the skin before being rubbed around the a large soft bristle brush. After it was wiped away, a second pad is applied which has soft bristles that buff up the skin just like one you’d see used on a wooden floor. The treatment is seen as a minimal face treatment that doesn’t cause any redness at all.
When most people want a facial, it is because they want their skin to look and feel fresh. But a big problem is getting skin to respond well to exfoliation. A microdermabrasion facial gets around that by blasting at the face to completely remove dead skin cells.
These cells are pesky as they are prone to trapping dirt and oil around and in the pore, covering in such a way that you having a good scrub won’t do much. This facial uses medical crsytals that can rub deep in to pores without inflaming skin and safely remove all kinds of dirts from your skin.
Facials can do more than simply help you look fresh, For people with skin tone issues and very rough skin, nu-derm is a prescribed facial treatment that is used in a clinic and at home to help with a whole host of problems.
This is slightly different than the other facials I’ve talked to as it’s a cream based facial that is prescribed and then given to you to take home. A person would use it just like a facewash and after a few weeks would start to see their skin look a bit lighter.
The creators claim it’s the only “skin brightening” facial cream on the market and has to be used conservatively for full effect.
